There’s something uniquely satisfying about a referral job. When a new customer calls to say they’ve been recommended by someone we’ve worked with before, it’s a real vote of confidence. It means we didn’t just install an air conditioning system, we left a lasting impression.
Recently, we had one of these special projects right here in our local area, and it turned out to be a great example of how a well-designed system can completely transform a home.
A Local Referral That Hit Close to Home
This particular client reached out after speaking with one of our previous customers. They were impressed with the quality of the installation and the performance of the system, so they got in touch to see how we could help them achieve the same level of comfort in their own home.
We always enjoy working within our own community and building word-of-mouth trust. The client wanted a full home solution, with air conditioning in most rooms. They were particularly interested in energy efficiency, quiet operation, and a clean look that would blend seamlessly with their interior design. After a detailed site survey, we designed a system using a combination of Daikin Stylish and Daikin Perfera indoor units, powered by two multi-split systems and one single-split system.
Designing the Perfect Setup
The home had a mix of large open spaces and smaller, more enclosed rooms, which made a multi-split setup the most practical option.
A multi-split system connects several indoor units to a single outdoor condenser. This means you can independently control the temperature in each room while keeping the exterior of your home uncluttered with fewer outdoor units. It’s efficient, flexible, and ideal for homes that need multiple rooms cooled and heated throughout the year.
We also installed a single-split system in a room that required its own dedicated unit – this is really useful for spaces that are used more than others, for example a home office that is used daily. A single-split system has one indoor unit paired with one outdoor unit, providing direct, efficient temperature control for that specific space. It’s a simple and effective solution when only one area needs conditioning.
This combination of multi and single splits gave the homeowners maximum flexibility, minimal outdoor clutter, and consistent performance throughout the property.
The Beauty of Daikin Stylish
The Daikin Stylish was chosen for the main living spaces, and it’s easy to see why it’s such a popular option. The name says it all, it’s one of the sleekest air conditioning units available, designed to complement modern interiors rather than stand out.
It comes in a choice of finishes, and the slim profile means it doesn’t dominate a wall. Beyond the looks, though, it’s packed with advanced features that make everyday use effortless:
Smart temperature control: The Stylish uses intelligent sensors to monitor the room’s temperature and humidity, automatically adjusting airflow to keep things comfortable.
Energy efficiency: It’s built with Daikin’s latest inverter technology, which means it uses only the energy required to maintain your chosen temperature, rather than constantly powering on and off.
Quiet operation: Ideal for living areas and bedrooms, the Stylish runs at whisper-quiet levels, often quieter than a normal conversation.
Air quality: It includes Daikin’s Flash Streamer technology, which helps remove allergens and odours from the air, keeping the indoor environment fresher and healthier.
For homeowners who care about design and comfort in equal measure, the Daikin Stylish hits the perfect balance.
The Reliability of Daikin Perfera
In the other rooms, we went with the Daikin Perfera indoor units - a model known for its practicality, efficiency, and comfort features.
While the Stylish focuses on aesthetic appeal, the Perfera is designed with everyday performance in mind. It’s a versatile choice that works well in bedrooms, offices, and smaller living areas where you want consistent comfort at an economical price.
Some standout benefits include:
Powerful yet efficient heating and cooling: The Perfera performs impressively in both summer and winter, thanks to its high seasonal efficiency ratings.
Air purification: It features an advanced filtration system that removes dust, allergens, and pollutants, ideal for anyone who suffers from allergies or simply wants cleaner indoor air.
Optimised airflow: The unit automatically adjusts its louvres to distribute air evenly across the room, avoiding cold or hot spots.
Wi-Fi control: With the Daikin Onecta app, the homeowners can control each unit from their smartphone, whether they’re in another room or away from home.
The Perfera is a great “all-rounder” - reliable, quiet, and efficient, making it a solid match for bedrooms and smaller spaces.
Why Multi and Single Splits Make Sense
When designing home air conditioning, the layout of the property and the homeowner’s priorities both play a huge role. Multi and single-split systems each have their place, and sometimes a combination, like in this installation, is the best of both worlds.
Here’s a quick breakdown:
Multi-Split Systems
One outdoor unit can connect to several indoor units.
Each indoor unit can be controlled individually.
Ideal for homes with multiple rooms or floors.
Saves outdoor space and reduces exterior noise.
Energy-efficient operation across zones.
Single-Split Systems
One indoor and one outdoor unit - simple and effective.
Great for standalone rooms like offices, garden rooms, or extensions.
Easy to install and maintain.
Perfect for targeted comfort without affecting other zones.
In this project, combining both meant the client could enjoy precise temperature control throughout the home without overcomplicating the system design.
Installation Highlights
Our engineers handled everything from the initial survey to the final commissioning. Because this was a referral job, the client already had a sense of what to expect from our process - clear communication, tidy workmanship, and attention to detail.
We started with a free site survey, taking measurements and assessing the best locations for indoor and outdoor units to balance efficiency and aesthetics. Once the design was confirmed, we scheduled the installation at a time convenient for the client.
The work involved:
Mounting the indoor units.
Installing the outdoor units in an accessible location.
Running insulated copper refrigerant lines and condensate drains.
Setting up electrical connections and system controls.
Testing the system for performance, and functionality.
Walking the client through operation, maintenance, and app controls.
The entire project ran smoothly, and by the end, every room had its own perfectly tuned climate, quiet, efficient, and responsive.
Why Referral Jobs Mean So Much
In our industry, referrals are the ultimate compliment. They’re not the result of advertising or cold calls, they come from genuine satisfaction. When a customer recommends us to their friends or family, it tells us we’ve done our job properly.
We take that responsibility seriously. Every referred project carries a bit of extra pride, knowing that someone has trusted us enough to put their name behind our work. It also reinforces why we place so much importance on quality installations and aftercare.
For this local homeowner, the result was exactly what they wanted: reliable comfort throughout the house, minimal disruption, and a clean, modern look that fits the home’s character.
And for us, it was another reminder that good work really does travel by word of mouth - sometimes just a few miles away.
