Ceiling Air Conditioner Installation
We were thrilled to recently complete the installation of an air conditioner system at the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA), specifically in one of their 16 dance studios. LAMDA, which underwent an award-winning redevelopment in 2017, is located in Baron's Court in South West London, and it was the former home of The Royal Ballet School.
This building is a bustling hub of activity. Students attending LAMDA courses occupy the studios from 9 am to 6 pm every weekday. Additionally, outside of these hours, the general public and industry guests gather to enjoy performances. Schools visit for workshops, and LAMDA London Public Exams are hosted here.
The studios are truly state-of-the-art. They are characterised by their abundance of natural light, spaciousness, and high ceilings. Our newly installed air conditioning system plays a crucial role in maintaining a comfortable temperature within the studio during training and rehearsal sessions, ensuring the utmost convenience for the performers and artists.
Our team installed the Daikin 4-way blow ceiling-suspended cassettes, an ideal choice for achieving even air distribution throughout the studio. Ceiling-mounted or ceiling-suspended cassette-type air conditioning units are engineered to deliver a more robust cooling capacity compared to wall-mounted counterparts in applications with high ceilings. These systems offer programmable and energy-efficient cooling, connecting to an external condenser and heat exchanger via a network of piping. They disperse adjustable cooling from multiple vents, typically positioned at the room's centre or at various ceiling locations.

Fan only: The unit can be used as fan, blowing air without heating or cooling.
Draught prevention: When starting to warm up or when the thermostat is off, the air discharge direction is set horizontally and the fan to low speed, to prevent draught. After warming up, air discharge and fan speed are set as desired.
