Secondary
Refrigeration Systems.
Cold Control have been at the forefront
of using secondary fluids in order to remove refrigerant gas
from a temperature-controlled area.
A typical installation will comprise of all plant within a dedicated
plant room including compressors, pumps, control panels and
fluid tanks. Integral or remote condensers may
be used. Chilled fluid such as polypropylene glycol is pumped
via insulated ABS pipework
to forced air glycol coolers within the temperature-controlled
area.
Air distribution within occupied food preparation areas is often
undertaken with textile
socks or rigid ducting to prevent draughts from adversely affecting
the workforce.
Defrost of coolers is either by electric rods or hot fluid pumped
from a separate
insulated tank.
Typical installations include meat processing plants, sandwich
manufacturing and fresh
fish processing plants.
