Cold
Control has already started 2008 by securing
some large prestigious contracts and we
are again planning for another busy year.
We have recently re-structured the sales
department of the company to progress our
customer service and to ensure we are meeting
all of our customer's requirements. We have
employed a new Business Development Manager

existing clients and better communication
with potential customers. We also now have
a dedicated internal sales person who will
be overseeing all aspects of our refrigeration
portfolio as well as focusing on the growing
hospitality and retail markets.
Alongside this restructuring we are also
currently carrying out a detailed customer
survey to ensure our service is second to
none and to make sure our clients our getting
the service they expect.
In reaction to the recent changes with the
F Gas regulation and other legislation,
we are still heavily focused on both the
service and maintenance division of the
business and throughout 2008 we will be
looking to further develop this area.
We are attending this year's Hotelympia,
which is between 17-21st February 2008 at
Excel in London. Our stand number is S3331
where we will have a Jamaican theme bar,
so please pop down for a drink. |

| WITH COLD CONTROL THERE IS NO NEED TO SHOP AROUND |
|
| |
With
our help, retailers can ensure they provide
the optimum environment for their customers.
Trends within the retail sector have an
impact upon the shopfitting market. The
UK public has become increasingly design
orientated, stimulated by a wide range of
media coverage relating to style and store
ambience. This has made retailers more sophisticated
in their choice of products, with greater
emphasis on image and design, as they attempt
to attract customers.
The essence of store ambience is providing
a comfortable in-store temperature. It is
important to create an environment in which
customers feel comfortable and relaxed enough
to spend time, shop and spend their money.
At peak times such as
|
|
| |
Christmas
and throughout the January sale season
when there is an increased number of
shoppers, customers need to feel comfortable
in stores in order for them to remain
in the shop. During these seasons when
many retailers make their money a welcoming
retail environment becomes ever more
important to entice customers into stores,
and to lure the cash from their pockets.
Our knowledgeable design team have experience
working with a variety of in-store contractors
to install to any specification any
air conditioning or refrigeration in
a wide range of retail environments
from cafes, bars and restaurants to
hardware stores and butchers. Our design
team will create an environment that
is both stimulating and comfortable
for customers to shop. Many shops look
at their shopfitters in the hope that
they can boost future sales.
There are three areas for customer comfort
that are essential. Firstly, when installing
air conditioning it is important that
the fixed system works quietly. Regular
servicing and performance tuning ensure
noise levels remain as low as the day
your equipment was installed.
The innovation in technology is also
helping to keep such units concealed,
it is vital to maximise the space within
your shop. Many manufacturers are reacting
to demand and ensuring that such units
are smaller and discrete, even the traditional
noisy condenser is becoming smaller
and quieter.
Secondly, it is vital the system is
as attractive and unobtrusive as possible.
The interior units should be barely
visible; they should blend in with the
built environment that, in most cases,
staff, customers and visitors shouldn't
be aware of them. At the same time,
the exterior equipment should be located
in a convenient location within unrestricted
free air.
Lastly, and most importantly, all fixed
systems should put the end user in control,
whatever the desired temperature. The
manufacturers offer a wide choice of
controls. These include user-friendly
wireless remote control handsets, some
with extra large displays, together
with wired wall-mounted keypads and
panels. Features and options include
a choice of fan speeds, preset memory,
timer and 'eco' control.
Key issues for most shopfitting schemes
are cost, time, and quality. Commercial
interior design is not the same as other
forms of architectural design. Understanding
the building's function and how that
must influence its design must be an
integrated part of the interior design
process. Our experienced installation
technicians can work alongside any architects,
designers, builders, and interior designers
to deliver the best results, whether
it is a retrofit or new build project.
By utilising our expertise, many retailers
can benefit from years of experience
and being able to benefit from identifying
early what is viable and what is not.
We go further than just creating the
right ambience for retailers and making
customers and staff more comfortable.
Our company is renowned for its work
in installing a wide range of chillers
and freezers that help boost sales by
presenting products in a easy appealing,
safe way whilst maximising visibility.
All our coldrooms and freezer stores
are built to suit virtually any configuration
imaginable, and are made from top quality
fire resistant materials conforming
to the strictest Health and Hygiene
regulations. Our chilled storage keeps
ingredients fresh and accessible during
busy periods.
The equipment we supply is designed
to be as energy efficient as possible
thus minimising power consumption. We
are consistently up-to-date with the
latest industry thinking, legislation
and environmental targets. In fact,
our approach and the systems we provide
can help you to benefit from tax concessions
under the UK government's Enhanced Capital
Allowance (ECA) scheme for the use of
energy-efficient products.
By having planned periodic inspections
of all equipment, whether it is a cold
store or display counter, we can ensure
that equipment is kept running at its
peak efficiency and potential problems
are recognised before they cause trouble.
Unscheduled equipment breakdown for
a restaurant can spell disaster, as
many establishments are constantly under
pressure to perform due to the competitive |

|
nature
of this business. We can provide expert
engineers on call 24-hours together
with emergency equipment backup, as
of a part of a preventative maintenance
programme.
Mark Grant, Managing Director of Cold
Control comments, "Whether you have
just set up a new business and are looking
to design and open a store from scratch
or you run a well-established outlet,
our design team will ensure that your
project is completed with the minimum
of disruption to your existing business.
You can also rest assured that whenever
you deal with us you will always receive
the best quality products and service,
backed by expert advice". |

| COLD CONTROL TAKES CONTROL IN MAYFAIR |
|
| |
We
were recently called upon to help refurbish
a grade II listed building in affluent Mayfair,
London.
This project involved the conversion of a
seven-floor, Mayfair site into luxury offices
for individual lease. The development called
for the old, existing air conditioning, heating
and ventilation system to be entirely stripped
out of the building before a modern energy
efficient, compact and cost effective system
could be installed.
We visited the site with Grovestable Ltd,
the building refurbishment and restoration
contractors for this project, and assessed
what was required, then designed, specified
and installed the complete air conditioning
solution.
|
|
| |
We
specified and installed two VRV-III
Daikin systems consisting of two external
condensing units and 29 floor standing
chassis internal units, which can provide
both heating and cooling simultaneously.
The two VRV-III condensing units benefit
from a compact footprint allowing them
to be located in an unobtrusive acoustic
enclosure on the rear elevation of the
building, in line with Westminster City
Councils requirements for listed buildings.
Daikin's Variable Refrigerant Volume-III
system (VRV) was chosen as it is an
efficient, energy saving way to heat
and cool office space as the volume
flow rate of refrigeration is accurately
matched to the required heating or cooling
loads, thereby saving energy and providing
more accurate control. Both VRV III
systems were then linked back to the
complete building management system,
allowing convenient remote monitoring,
thus reducing the need for engineers
to be called to the site, cutting running
costs and ensuring minimum disruption
to the offices.
Richard Burnham, Construction Manager
for Grovestable, the Building Consultants,
commented that, Cold Control delivered
the "complete design package", ensuring
the most appropriate systems were specified.
Our total solution also included an
unrivalled after sales service. By offering
a preventative maintenance contract
and a 24-hour break down service, we
ensure equipment is always maintained
in good working order and are able to
minimise any possible disruption to
clients. Richard also commented: "We
were very happy working with Cold Control
again, the installation was faultless
and the after sales service is very
good."
Mark Grant, Managing Director of Cold
Control added: "This was a unique project
to specify because the site was a Grade
II listed building, and the aim was
to create the optimum working environment.
Daikin's VRV III was specified because
it is a great system for mid to large
applications and is a reliable and efficient
way to heat and cool offices. Also the
control packages available for the systems
allow us to provide individual and group
control of the units both on and off
site, thus fulfilling all of our clients
control requirements."
We have a wide range of experience in
designing, specifying and installing
for individual projects, whilst offering
an unrivalled after sales service and
maintenance. |

| ON THE PITCH OR IN THE POOL COLD CONTROL MAKE A WINNING TEAM |
|
| |
Only
recently, Judo girl Petra Piers from Alton
wrestled her way to become World Champion
thanks to Cold Control. Truly inspired by
the brimming talent of local sports individuals,
we also recently sponsored the Four Marks
FC and synchronised swimmer Alexandra Harris,
who swims for the Reading Royals.
Both Four Marks FC and Alexandra would like
to thank Cold Control for their continued
sponsorship. Without the funding, the footballers
would not have been able to sprint forward
to the top of the Zenith Hampshire league
this season and Alex would not have been
able to swim her way to stardom.
|
|
| |
With
Four Marks FC having kicked off this season
with a winning streak of six matches and
Alex now training for the England Synchronised
Swimming Youth Team it is crystal clear
that, like their sponsor, both teams pride
themselves on being the top of the league.
In order to reach the top, like us, the
two local teams take a dedicated, professional
and determined approach to reach their goals.
However, raw talent and determination requires
development, support and encouragement.
It is our financial support that facilitates
and enables these individuals to train in
order to convert talent into winning sporting
individuals and teams.
John Smith, Four Mark's FC Club Secretary,
explains how our support is central to club's
success, "Without the financial support
from Cold Control, the club would find it
impossible to survive. Their sponsorship
is essential, it keeps the team up and running,
funding everything from buying new kit,
marking the lines of the pitch, competition
entry fees, kit cleaning and referee fees."
John continues, "We are very proud to be
sponsored by such an reputable company.
Cold Control is with us every kick of the
way".
Our sponsorship also enabled Alex and her
synchronised swimming team to train by financing
additional pool hire and coaching costs.
Alex explains how the aid of this additional
funding has enabled her to achieve her goals.
"Thanks to Cold Control's support, in 2005
I won Gold medals for my figures and solo
routine, and Silver medals for my duet and
team routine at the National Age Group competitions.
I would like to thank Cold Control and I
hope I can make them proud and show how
much I appreciate their continued sponsorship
by qualifying for the GB squad in December
which will swim in the 2012 Olympics."
Mark Grant, Managing Director of Cold Control
enthused: "We are delighted to be able to
be a part of and support our local sporting
champions and congratulate them on their
unremitting success this season."
The local sporting teams' inspiring advancement
reflects our continued growth in the air
conditioning and refrigeration market.
